New for 2010, the USPS has announced a new pricing structure, Commercial Plus Cubic Pricing, for high volume shippers. Commercial Plus Cubic pricing is based on package size in terms of cubic volume. To qualify for Commercial Plus Cubic pricing, customers must ship more than 250,000 Priority Mail pieces per year. Customers will see significant savings when sending packages that weigh less than 20 pounds and are no larger than ½ cubic foot in volume. Cubic Foot can be calculated by dividing the cubic inches (LxWxH) by 1728.

In 2009, the U.S. Postal Service® announced a new pricing platform, Commercial Plus, which is an extraordinary value for high-volume domestic Express Mail and domestic Priority Mail users. Existing Customers qualify for the Express Mail Commercial Plus pricing when sending a minimum of 6,000 domestic pieces per year.

Existing customers qualify for the Priority Mail Commercial Plus pricing when sending a minimum of 100,000 domestic pieces of Priority Mail packages per calendar year. [See DMM 423.1.3], about 400 pieces per day.
