Guidelines: Return and Delivery Addresses for International Mailpieces
According to USPS postal regulations, be aware of the regulations about the use of return and destination (delivery) addresses:
- Destination address: The addressee's full legal name (meaning the name that corresponds to the addressee's government-issued identification—such as the addressee's first name, middle initial (if applicable), and last name) and complete address must appear. For parcels, addresses should also appear on a separate slip enclosed in the parcel.
- Return address: A complete return address must include the sender's full legal name (see Note in 122.1 at the referenced link) and complete return address. The full legal name may not include initials except where initials are an adopted trade name.
