Specify Special Contents
Prior to shipping, the USPS requires that you declare certain content types for domestic mail—such as live animals, day-old poultry, hazardous materials, cremated remains, perishable, and fragile—which you indicate in the Service Options area of the Order Lookup tab.
- Important! For more information about shipping special contents, see:
Steps
- On the Order Lookup tab, in the Service Options area, select the Special Content type check box.
- Click the Edit Options link.
- In the Special Content Type Options dialog box, select one:
- Live Animals—if you intend to ship live animals, not including day-old poultry, be sure to verify shipping requirements with the USPS.
- Live Animals Day-Old Poultry—a surcharge based on weight may apply, the amount of which is included on the label.
- Hazardous Materials
- Cremated Remains
- Perishable
- Fragile—an extra fee may apply.
- Click OK.
- Important! After you print a label with any selected special content item, that selection remains selected unless you change the selection or switch to another profile.
