About International Business Reply Mail
For International Business Reply Mail, you must create the envelope layout design in DAZzle Professional and then start the printing from Envelope Manager. Printing from Envelope Manager is the only way to control the pieces of the Intelligent Mail barcode (IMb). Make sure you use service code 708 and the unique ZIP+4 (but no Delivery Point). Do not verify the address using the Address Management System (Dial-A-ZIP, ZIP Check), because doing so would lose the unique ZIP+4.
- Important! To create an International Business Reply Mail with an IMb, you must have:
- A Mailer ID issued by the USPS.
- A copy of DAZzle that indicates “DAZzle Professional” in the upper left corner.
- Envelope Manager LE. If you try to complete the procedures with DAZzle Professional alone, your Intelligent Mail barcode will have the incorrect Mailer ID. If you do not have one of those programs, send an email message with your serial or account number and DAZzle version number to tech@envmgr.com. To find your DAZzle version number, select Help > About.
- Note: Starting with DAZzle version 9.2.07, DAZzle complies with new specifications for International Business Reply Mail that are expected to be posted in the July 30, 2009 Postal Bulletin. These specifications allow:
- The use of an Intelligent Mail barcode instead of POSTNET.
- The barcode to be placed in the address block instead of the barcode clear zone.
- A smaller type size and shorter text for the “INT’L BUSINESS REPLY MAIL/RESPONSE PAYEE” legend so that a special font is no longer required.
