Create a SELECT Statement

After you have established your data source connection, the Create a SELECT Statement wizard automatically runs to help you create the SELECT statement, which retrieves data from your data source.

The initial SELECT statement uses the Order Number field or equivalent.

Steps

  1. Depending on your data connection setup:
  2. From either the Order Lookup Data Map or the Batch Print Data Map window, select your named Data Source.
  3. In the SELECT Statement for Retrieving Data area, click the Guide Me button.
  4. From the Create a SELECT Statement wizard, click the Next button.
  5. From the list, select a table or other object according to the type of database source:
  6. Click the Next button.
  7. From the list, select the field that corresponds to the Order Number field.
  8. Click OK to finish the wizard.
  9. Click OK.

The wizard automatically adds the initial SELECT statement to either the Order Lookup Data Map window or the Batch Print Data Map window. After you have created the SELECT statement to use with Endicia Professional, you can connect your database fields using either the Order Lookup Data Map or the Batch Print Data Map.
